PURPOSE
The purpose of this term paper is to identify ways that Sysco
has used to improve its competitive capabilities such as cost, flexibility,
time and quality and our recommendations of actions that will lead to further
productivity and quality improvements. We as a group will interview the
operations manager of the company, we selected which is Sysco and find out what
Sysco does, how it does it and how it could improve and do it even better. We
will observe different segments or different functions that the company’s
operations have such as how they manage quality, processing from start to
finish, inventory, information about their raw materials, sustainability,
employees scheduling, shipment, and pricing. We will be using many different
methods of research to conduct research and provide information needed. One
method of research will be online websites to give us an insight into the
company and to help assist us with our main topics and subtopics. Another
method of research would be us having an interview with the operations manager
to get insight of analysis, data, and any information they can provide for our
topics. We as a group will apply learned operations concepts, skills, and
strategies to real-life situations to help us come up with the recommendations for
Sysco for any areas that we feel they can improve on.
